Heather Borski has a B.S. in Health Education and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Utah. She is also a master certified health education specialist, and alumna of both the Great Basin Public Health Leadership Institute and National Public Health Leadership Institute.
Heather directs the Division of Disease Control and Prevention at the Utah Department of Health, and oversees the Bureau of Health Promotion, Bureau of Epidemiology, Utah Public Health Laboratory, and Office of the Medical Examiner. Prior to serving as Division Director, Heather directed the Utah Department of Health’s Bureau of Health Promotion and managed the Bureau’s Tobacco Prevention and Control Program.
Heather is a three-time nominee for the State of Utah’s Manager of the Year Award. Additionally, in 2000, Heather received the Health Education Association of Utah’s Catherine Summerhays Award, HEAU’s highest honor. In 2009, Heather received the Directors of Health Promotion and Education Leadership Award. Heather has served on many Boards, including for the Health Education Association of Utah, Directors of Health Promotion and Education, National Association of Chronic Disease Directors, Utah Partners for Healthy Weight, and the Utah Public Health Association. Heather was re-elected to UPHA’s Board in 2015 as Vice President and is currently serving as UPHA President.
