The city supports active living through an expanding trail network and a robust employee wellness program, increases access to nutritious food with a new community garden and annual food drive, and invests in mental health resources through first responder training and local recreation programs. These efforts reflect the city’s ongoing commitment to improving the health and well-being of all residents.

    Health Strategies

    Active Living

    • Expanded the city’s trail network to improve access and connectivity for outdoor recreation.
    • Maintained an Employee Wellness Program with yearlong activities, health screenings, and incentives for city staff.

    Access to Healthy Food

    • Developed a community garden with Gardens Growing Good to increase fresh produce access.
    • Hosted an Annual Day of Service Food Drive to support the Bountiful Food Pantry.

    Mental Health

    • Trained first responders in mental health crisis intervention and suicide prevention, with support from the Davis County Receiving Center.
    • Offered stress reduction and wellness programs through the South Davis Recreation District.
