Healthy Food Access Community Grant

Access to affordable, nutritious food is essential to the health and wellbeing of Utahns. This funding opportunity is for Utah cities, towns, and municipalities interested in implementing a healthy food access project. Awarded communities will receive up to $2,000 of funding along with structured support from Get Healthy Utah and additional statewide partners. Communities will have flexibility to select strategies that best fit their local context, with an emphasis on equity and sustainability. The project period is April 1, 2026 through January 31, 2027.
Example strategies may include, but are not limited to:
- Farmer’s markets, mobile markets, or food box programs
- Community or school gardens
- Offering an educational program to teach about healthy eating
- Adding or expanding SNAP/EBT and Double Up Food Bucks access
- Transportation solutions that improve access to food retail
- Policy changes to attract grocery stores and healthy food options
- Culturally relevant food access initiatives
