Coalville City worked hard to improve active living in its community, particularly among youth. The city partnered with with the Summit County Health Department to promote Safe Routes to Schools and hosted Beat the Street assemblies at the local elementary school, encouraging safe walking and biking.
The city also improved access to healthy food by supporting the Utah Community Action Services Food Pantry with resources, support, and volunteers.
To support mental health, the Summit County Health Department offered free QPR trainings and gun locks to residents free of charge. As part of its three-year health plan, the Healthy Coalville Coalition will continue to focus on improving active transportation conditions for pedestrians and bikers.
