Delta is a rural community located in central Utah and serves as a gateway to the West Desert. Known for its agricultural roots, Delta has a strong connection to farming and irrigation, supported by its location near the Sevier River. The city offers a close-knit, small-town atmosphere with access to outdoor recreation, including nearby desert landscapes and numerous hiking and OHV (off-highway vehicle) trails. Every spring, thousands of snow geese fly over Delta on their annual 3,000-mile migration back to Canada, and the city hosts the Delta Snow Goose Festival to celebrate. Here, attendees can run the Wild Goose Chase 5K or 10K, observe the snow geese, and visit a craft and quilt fair put on by local artisans. To earn the designation, Delta also formed the Healthy Delta Community Coalition focused on improving the health of its residents.
