Hooper
- Population: 9,838
- Designation Year: Fall 2023
Hooper has been working on big things! To qualify for the designation, the city organized a new health coalition called "Keep Hooper Healthy" which consists of members from the sheriff’s department, a school nurse, the local health department, elected officials, city staff, and a community member.
The city earned a grant to build pickle ball courts and a basketball court, which offer residents fun ways to get active. Hooper also organizes a monthly “Tomato Jam” to support community connection and mental health. Local musician of all ages and abilities get together to share their musical talents. To encourage residents to eat right, the city partnered with USU Extension and their local health department to launch a nutrition campaign on the city's Facebook page at local, high-traffic areas.
For it's three-year health plan, Hooper will develop a new trail connection, host healthy cooking classes, and offer drug abuse education and resources to the community.
