  • Layton City has made great strides to increase active transportation throughout the community. Pedestrian and bike paths are currently being expanded, with a particular focus on increasing access among low-to-moderate income-neighborhoods. Furthermore, a walkability audit was conducted to ensure that major routes throughout the city are safe and accessible. In addition to promoting active living, Layton City has also increased access to healthy foods through a community garden and provides medication disposal services throughout the community.

    2025 Redesignation

    To be redesignated in 2025, Layton strengthened its commitment to employee wellness, food security, and mental health support. The city enhanced opportunities for physical activity and holistic well-being through its “Wellable” Wellness Program for employees and their families. Layton also improved access to emergency food by supporting the Open Doors Food Bank, helping local families meet critical nutrition needs. Additionally, the city introduced CredibleMind, a confidential mental health resource program, providing employees with tools to manage stress, sleep, relationships, and overall mental wellness.
