Healthy Utah Community

Get Healthy Utah is excited to partner with the Utah League of Cities and Towns to support Healthy Utah Community, a new designation program for cities and towns. This designation recognizes communities across Utah that do an exemplary job of implementing evidence-based strategies to improve community health.

Centerville

  • Population: 18,000
  • Designation Year: Spring 2022
  • Centerville created a full-time position in their recreation department that focuses on health and wellness for the whole community. The recreation department regularly sponsors health-promoting events for youth and adults alike, such as pickleball tournaments and kickball leagues. These kinds of events are promoted regularly through a strong online presence. Centerville makes regular social media posts and created a resource page on its website that provides information on accessing healthy foods, engaging in physical activity, and connecting with mental health resources.
